The Optris CTlaser G5 pyrometer is engineered for precise temperature measurements in glass-related applications, featuring a two-piece sensor design comprising a separate electronic box housing programming keys and a display. This design ensures user-friendly operation and enables accurate temperature readings. With a temperature range spanning from 100 °C to 1650 °C, this pyrometer is suitable for deployment in vehicle and flat glass manufacturing processes, providing reliable and accurate temperature measurements to meet industrial requirements in the glass industry.
The temperature range varies depending on the model, with the G5L model covering temperatures from 100 °C to 1200 °C, the G5H model from 250 °C to 1650 °C, and the G5HF model from 200 °C to 1650 °C. Optical resolution ranges from 45:1 to 70:1 across different models, ensuring precise measurements. The system accuracy is specified as ±1% or ±1.5 °C, with repeatability of ±0.5% or ±0.5 °C, ensuring reliability in various glass applications.
Emissivity plays a crucial role in non-contact stationary infrared temperature measurement, influencing accuracy. The CTlaser G5 addresses this with its specialized spectral range of 5.0 µm, suitable for measuring glass temperatures effectively across various industrial processes. Wavelength selection is critical for measuring both surface and deeper layers of glass, with specific recommendations based on temperature levels and material properties.
The CTlaser G5 series features double laser aiming marks, providing precise aiming support and minimizing alignment errors. This system utilizes two laser beams to trace the infrared optical path accurately, indicating the spot’s position and size regardless of distance.
With a two-piece design and advanced signal processing capabilities, the CTlaser G5 offers a wide range of analog and digital outputs, ensuring seamless integration into various industrial processes and control systems. Enhanced with Optris accessories such as air purging and mounting flanges, this infrared thermometer is adaptable to diverse manufacturing and process applications.
Manufactured and calibrated in Germany, the CTlaser G5 undergoes meticulous calibration to meet government standards such as PTB or NIST, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Customization options like different cable sizes cater to specific customer requirements. Optris provides comprehensive support for the CTlaser G5 series, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction in various glass processing applications.

Thermography software optris PIX Connect is included and license-free.All infrared cameras are delivered with the thermography software optris PIX Connect, developed specifically for the extensive documentation and analysis of thermal images. The Windows-based PIX Connect software enables users to tailor the infrared cameras to meet specific requirements. It analyses live and recorded temperature data and triggers alarm signals for process integration. The key to leveraging the Optris infrared camera is a correct configuration. This includes detailed device-specific configurations such as frame rate, measurement range adjustments, external communication settings, and USB/Ethernet configurations. Moreover, PIX Connect facilitates firmware updates and the download of configuration files over the Internet.
Optris offers several different SDKs for our Xi and PI thermal imaging cameras. Depending on the operating platform, the infrared camera, the coding language, and the hardware platform, different software interfaces can be utilized:
The Optris IRmobile allows users to set up and commission an Optris infrared pyrometer or infrared camera with an Android smartphone or tablet. This tool becomes handy for commissioning and aligning the infrared camera’s field of view or adjusting the configuration. The app analyzes the connected infrared camera‘s live infrared image stream with auto hot and cold spot detection. For pyrometers, a temperature-time diagram or the video signal is displayed. This app works on most Android devices running 5.0+ with a USB port supporting USB-OTG (On The Go).
