The Optris CTratio 1M emerges as a rugged and reliable fiber-optical ratio thermometer, meticulously engineered for precise non-contact temperature measurement across a broad range of high temperatures, spanning from 250 °C to 3000 °C. This advanced instrument offers versatility and accuracy, catering to various measurement requirements through its three distinct models: 1ML, 1MH, and 1MH1. Leveraging the robust fiber-optical two-color technology, the CTratio 1M delivers consistent and repeatable temperature measurement results, thanks to the pyrometers innovative ratio measurement principle.
Unlike conventional single-color pyrometers that rely solely on intensity measurements, the CTratio harnesses the power of dual-color or two-color pyrometry. By measuring infrared radiation at two closely spaced wavelengths and evaluating the relationship between these intensities, the CTratio ensures accurate and reliable measurements even in adverse conditions. This approach proves invaluable in scenarios where emissivity is unknown or changes with temperature, as the infrared sensor accounts for variations in emissivity or process conditions proportionally across both wavelength signals.
Moreover, the CTratio’s resilience extends to challenging environments where obstacles like dust, smoke, or steam may be present in the optical path. With the ability to maintain reliability even with up to 90 percent attenuation caused by changing transmissions, this pyrometer remains a dependable tool in industrial settings. The infrared thermometers resistance to adverse conditions, coupled with precise temperature measurements, makes this infrared sensor indispensable across a wide range of applications.
Aligning the sensor for optimal performance is effortless with the CTratio 1M, thanks to its integrated green laser, providing real-time spot size indication at any distance. This feature simplifies sensor alignment, even on surfaces emitting intense red glow. Additionally, the motorized focus capability allows for adjustable focusing from 150 mm to infinity, ensuring versatility in targeting objects at various distances.
The temperature measurement ranges offered by the CTratio 1M cater to diverse industrial needs, with each model tailored to specific temperature ranges for both single-channel and dual-channel operation. This flexibility, combined with the pyrometers high system accuracy and repeatability, ensures consistent and reliable performance in demanding industrial environments.
Safety and durability are paramount considerations in industrial settings, and the CTratio 1M addresses these concerns admirably. Featuring an electrically isolated sensing head and a rugged stainless steel housing, this pyrometer prioritizes safety and reliability, making it suitable for the most challenging applications.
Manufactured in Germany, the CTratio 1M exemplifies precision engineering and uncompromising quality. The infrared thermometers adaptability, durability, and accuracy position it as the preferred choice for critical temperature control in industries such as metal and semiconductor manufacturing. With comprehensive support for various analog and digital outputs, seamless integration into industrial processes is assured.
In conclusion, the Optris CTratio 1M sets the standard for non-contact temperature sensing technology, offering unmatched accuracy, reliability, and versatility. Designed to excel in demanding industrial environments, this infrared pyrometer is the go-to solution for precise thermal monitoring across a wide range of applications.

Thermography software optris PIX Connect is included and license-free.All infrared cameras are delivered with the thermography software optris PIX Connect, developed specifically for the extensive documentation and analysis of thermal images. The Windows-based PIX Connect software enables users to tailor the infrared cameras to meet specific requirements. It analyses live and recorded temperature data and triggers alarm signals for process integration. The key to leveraging the Optris infrared camera is a correct configuration. This includes detailed device-specific configurations such as frame rate, measurement range adjustments, external communication settings, and USB/Ethernet configurations. Moreover, PIX Connect facilitates firmware updates and the download of configuration files over the Internet.
Optris offers several different SDKs for our Xi and PI thermal imaging cameras. Depending on the operating platform, the infrared camera, the coding language, and the hardware platform, different software interfaces can be utilized:
The Optris IRmobile allows users to set up and commission an Optris infrared pyrometer or infrared camera with an Android smartphone or tablet. This tool becomes handy for commissioning and aligning the infrared camera’s field of view or adjusting the configuration. The app analyzes the connected infrared camera‘s live infrared image stream with auto hot and cold spot detection. For pyrometers, a temperature-time diagram or the video signal is displayed. This app works on most Android devices running 5.0+ with a USB port supporting USB-OTG (On The Go).
